June sees the start of Hong Kong’s tropical summer with temperatures beginning to reach their peak at a maximum of 30 °C on average, but seldom dipping lower than 26 °C. In these temperatures you’ll want to make sure that wherever you stay has some good air conditioning!
While not the wettest month of the year, June is full of rain and tropical-style storms with around 288mm of rainfall on average and about 19 wet days of a total 30. You can bet that humidity will be at a fairly uncomfortable level much of the time, but you’ll be fine so long as you prepare to dip into air conditioned buildings every so often, drink plenty of water and take it easy when the humidity and heat is at its most fiersome.
