January is a great month to visit Hong Kong as the climate is generally very cool. However, the weather can vary between being a clear, bright and sunny day with temperatures up to 21 degrees C during the day, but then during the night it can dip down to just 10 degrees C.

- Lunar New Year: this usually falls in February, but it can also fall at the end of January. In 2012 it does just that and falls on the 23rd of January. This is Chinese New Year.
